I love the idea of using handwriting recognition for writing text with my Wacom tablet. The only issue is that, for many people like me who have a small (A6) tablet, we need to set the mapping/speed in mouse mode, and give the pen some acceleration, otherwise we will never manage to go around the screen (iMac 17", lots of real estate to walk through, I would need a golf cart sometimes...). So I never really used Ink, because my letters would be totally deformed and not proportional, thanks to the acceleration setting! Well, here is the trick!
The Wacom settings panel allows you to have different settings for applications. Very well, but Ink is part of the system, not an application. Uhuh, this is Mac OS X! The coolest system since the invention of toaster. Ink is taken care of by InkServer, a component ... just add the application InkServer (you will find it under: /System -> Library -> Components -> Ink.component -> Contents -> SharedSupport -> InkServer.app), and make the settings to your pen for this "application" to be of your liking. I am currently finding mouse mode with linear acceleration and lowest speed to be sort of ok, but "pen mode" is good also.
Whenever you start writing, the pen stops using the settings of the application you were in and behaves better. "N0W if œ|y l Could learn fo write In _ a legibk way !"
