Publish local Address Book to LDAP directory Network
I was getting anoyed being unable to share my Address Book, so I put together a little freeware application which allows me to transfer my entire Address Book, groups, or individuals to my local LDAP directory. Other clients on my network simply connect to it. Download AddressBook 2 LDAP from my site.

Is there an easy way to run an LDAP server on Panther? We have a small office, with an office-wide contact list in Filemaker, and I'd love to intergrate this DIRECTLY with people's email, and dumping the Filemaker data to an LDAP strikes me as the perfect solution.

Well, you could run Panther Server, which uses an OpenLDAP-based directory server as a key component. (It's part of Open Directory.)

Then, query against your Open Directory 2 server.

But, how do you add new addresses? In Addressbook and then copy them over?

The icon for the software looks nice too!!

Its kind of crazy that Address Book itself can't simply write to the LDAP directory. This feature is way overdue. A shared address book needs to be writable as well as readable.
