Get international number details in Address Book Apps
I've created an Address Book plug-in that enables you to get some details about the phone number selected, if the number has the international prefix included. Basically, it needs the format +n[nn] xxxxxxxx, where n's are a valid international prefix. The popup will show something like: 'Get details for number in "; selecting the action will take you to a detailed page for that number on

You can download the script from the macosxhints' file collection, and then open it in Script Editor. Once it's opened in Script Editor, save as Script in ~/Library/Address Book Plug-Ins, and it's ready to go.

Get international number details in Address Book

This is quite a neat capability. I didn't know this info was available.
What I would like to see is a script that could flip numbers between international and national format depending on your current country. Last week I travelled between Turkey and Australia and I had to manually "internationalise" australian numbers to call through on my P800. If I keep my address book fully international then the caller ID features don't work. Any chance anyone can write this script? I'm too stressed out in my main job to learn AppleScript as well!

Have you tried ABDialer? It can show your Address Book phone numbers localized to the country you select in preferences. It also dial the phone for you, if you want. Download here:
