Use an internal LiveUpdate server with OS 9.0.x clients Apps
Two months ago, I was finishing up my OS X corporate image when I realized that I had lost the secret tool Symantec gave me that pointed a NAV client at a LiveUpdate server. So I opened up my third ticket telling them I lost it. It seems perhaps they got tired of people like me asking for the tool, so there is now a Knowledge Base article about how to make a Macintosh running NAV 9.0 point at a company LiveUpdate server rather than Symantec's server. To set up the client, you will need the CopyLiveUpdateConf tool. This tool allows you to copy your edited liveupdate.conf file to the appropriate location. You can download the tool from the Symantec FTP site.

Use an internal LiveUpdate server with OS 9.0.x clients

Tried your hint but I have a problem since our internal LU-mirror is asking for a username and password.
I tried to enter the values on the lines from the original file that says username and password in clear text without the ENC. Didn't work. What is it with Symantec - they have made a LU-Admin program that runs native in X for creating liveupdt.hst files for OS 9 clients, why haven't they made one that will create a liveupdate.conf for X clients instead of masking af program that does a simple thing as copyinng a file to /etc?
