Restore vanishing System Preferences panes System

I had the problem of disappearing preference panes (in my case: Classic and Accounts). I think it happend after installing a Preference Pane item.

Solution: Close System Preferences. Go to home -> Library -> Caches and remove the file com.apple.preferencepanes.cache. Start up System Preferences again, and the missing panes should be back.

Thank You! This bug bit me last week with my PowerBook (in my case the "CDs & DVDs" icon went AWOL) and I scoured the discussion boards in vain for a fix. This works perfectly. As soon as I get home I'm going to try it on my iMac to see if it fixes the "Accounts" pane on that machine, which has been refusing to load at all.
