Another method of resending messages in Mail Apps
I like Apple's Mail.app, but I am frustrated on occassion by the lack of a "Resend" button like in Microsoft's Entourage. What are you supposed to do when you want to send a copy of an old message? Although you can use some menus as described in this hint, you can also use some good old Finder ingenuity.

While viewing a list of messages, hold option and drag any message to your drafts folder. The classic green "+" badge will appear on your cursor and a duplicate of the message will be created in the drafts folder. Open the message and you can change all its attributes--subject, message, and so forth. Edit and resend away. This also works for messages that were sent to you. That is, a copy of the message you received appears in your draft box without quoting, ready to be resent.

For those who send the same message often, (you know who you are) just store the messages in a folder called "Templates" and you can option-drag them to your drafts folder.

Here's a related shortcut: while viewing a list of messages, double-clicking opens the message in a new window. If you option double-click instead, a reply window will open.

Why not just use the "Redirect" option in the "Message" menu? Just type in the destination address, and send away! And you can of course modify other aspects of the message as necessary.

Message > Send Again ?!? Or cmd-shift-D. Resending a message doesn't need such difficult paths!

Just select the message in your 'Sent Items' box, then go to
Message-->Send Again.....

If Message -> Send Again is not the same thing as "Resend", I don't know what is.... the option-double-click for reply is cool though. The rest of the hint should be trashed though ;-)

Apologies for the apparently not-so-useful material. I use 10.2's Mail and, as mentioned already, the simple "Send Again" menu is not available in that version.

In 10.2 you will find a similar feature in the File menu.

I'm not currently in front of a 10.2 machine, but something about "Open again" or something (not so many to choose between).

Actually, the menu item works in Jaguar as well

Just so everyone knows, the Message-->"Send Again" feature DOES exist in Mac OS X 10.2. It's under the File menu and named "Open as New Message". It's the same thing, and all the attributes are preserved. No need to make resending a message difficult under Jaguar, either.
