A user in Apple Discussions wanted to find a way to catalog his favorite loops (beyond the favorites folder) in GarageBand. Here is what I suggested. Create a new playlist in iTunes. Drag the following onto the list window.
Library -> Application Support ->GarageBand -> Apple Loops
Start playing the first loop then go to "Get Info" then "Options." As you listen to the various loops, identify them with your "rating" selection. When each song ends, use the "Next" button to keep up with what is playing. It will take some time, but you will have instant rating information for loops. An easier way is to make a new playlist called "Super Favorites" and drag the loops you like here. When done, select them all then rate them with 5 stars.
If you do not want to use iTunes, go to the Apple Loops folder and just use the label colors to rate your favorite loops.
