I just found this, and figured it was a redeeming feature of the new Network browsing mechanism in 10.3. Where I work, there are a few dozen AppleTalk zones; this means that browsing through the choices after "Network" can be irksome, especially since the list is dynamic.
However, you can make an alias for the most often used AT zone, and put that in your Finder sidecar just like any other folder -- so now I can jump directly to my building's zone, rather than pulling it out of a long list of zones.
