Under 10.3.2, SETI@home won't run automatically as a screensaver unless you disable the OS screensaver, and leave your machine open all the time you're not there.
I found by accident that, if you're at the main login window (i.e. no one is logged in) and you put the mouse in the SETI@home "Start screen saver now" corner (e.g. bottom left), it will start! This way you can run SETI@home and still have the machine secure. Once someone comes in to the use the machine and moves the mouse, the program stops and the computer can be used normally.
