Rearrange Address Book plugin contextual menu order Apps
I've enjoyed tinkering with writing AppleScript plugins for Address Book thanks to a number of members here. While troubleshooting and testing a particular plugin, I discovered that the order of plugin options in the context menu seemed to be based on the name of the .scpt file.

By renaming some scripts so that more important ones appear first alphabetically in Finder's column view (and list view, I suppose), I was able to maneuver those plugins to be higher in the menu listing.

As stated above, the built-in Apple menu items appear first no matter what.

So basically this hint is "Menu items are sorted alphabetically"? I would have thought that obvious.

No, that's not it

The menu items aren't sorted alphabetically. The menu items show up in the alphabetical order of the .SCPT files in the Address Book Plug-Ins folder. By changing the name of the .SCPT files, you can rearrange the order of the menu options without changing the name of the menu option itself.
