I remember seeing a request either here or on slashdot.org about a quick way to rip a lot of CDs without user interaction. It turns out Apple was one step ahead of us. I guess they figured people are going to have a lot of cds they want to import and want a quick way to do it.
First go to the preferences for iTunes and look on the General section. There is a drop down for an item called "On CD Insert". Select the option "Import Songs and Eject". This will make iTunes grab the track names for the CD, import all the tracks and eject the CD when it's done without you touching a button. Don't forget to set it back to whatever you had before or CDs won't play.
Hope this helps those looking to import their library without to much hassle.
[robg adds: Typically, I don't run hints on application's preferences settings, but this one is a favored email help request, so I figured it's worth the space....]
