This may be a stupid hint, but it took me a while to figure it out. Maybe this will save other readers some time. In 10.2, you could drag a folder onto DiskCopy to have an image made of that folder. Now, since this application has been merged into 10.3, so has the convenient drag-n-drop function. You can't do this drag-n-drop onto "Disk Utility" to do the same thing.
I gave up, after trying to drag folders onto the "New Image" icon and failing several times. A few days later, I noticed that this can be done through a series of menu selections: Images -> New -> Image from Folder. Though not as convenient as in MacOS X 10.2 or MacOS 9, I'm happy that this function is still available.
