Someone finally created a Palm Hot Sync conduit for Avantgo that works under Mac OS X. See this entry on VersionTracker for more info.

Mal Conduit is based on the unix malsync utility, but works like a standard Palm conduit. There's no separate app or AppleScript to run, unlike previous workarounds for AvantGo's refusal to provide a conduit for Mac OS X.

[robg adds: In trying to find a direct download link for this program, it seems that it was created by Will Macdonald, who is somehow involved with MacZipIt.com (as the 1.2mb download is hosted there), but there's no reference to Mal Conduit on the ZipIt site. Click here to donwload the conduit. I actually then took the time to set up AvantGo, which I've never done before, and tried the conduit -- it works as expected, and installation is relatively trivial and well documented in a Read Me on the disk image. Pretty impressive!]
