A program to examine VCR recording time codes Apps
Got wondering how videoplus (UK VCR timing system; ShowView in Europe, and VCR+ in the States) works, and discovered this page in the first page from google. At the bottom is a link to some sourcecode to an application. Compile it and then running encode and decode provides a rather natty interface to the videoplus system. Handy when you want to stop arguments as to if you typed the correct number into the VCR when you discover you haven't recorded what you thought you had. :)

Note that to get the US system working should be fairly easy -- it should be a case of altering the Makefile alias to the Makefile.us file. However, I haven't tried it myself. Some more info on the system can be found here, along with several links to code for the US system.

Thanks to Steve Hosgood for this little gem!

Does anyone know about the G-code system used in Australia, New Zealand and parts of South East Asia? It's yet another GemStar variant.
