Add Mail senders directly to Address Book groups Apps
I was always a bit annoyed by the fact that when I click on "Add Address" in Mail, it would add the sender to my Address Book without asking me which group would I like to have it put in to. I then have to go to Address Book and look for my newly added address.

However, today I realised that you can simply drag the sender's name in Mail and drop it in any group you like in Address Book! The best way to do this would be to have both Mail and Address Book open, then drag from Mail and use Command-Tab (or Exposť) to switch to Address Book and drop it in. It all seem so obvious now that I know it.

Add Mail senders directly to Address Book groups

This has never been a big bother for me. What is, and I can't seem to find a hint on it, is:

1) When I get an email from someone already in my Address Book (maybe just for their phone #), Mail doesn't allow me to ADD the address to an existing record. I have to copy the address, go find the record in Address Book, click edit, add an address, then paste. This process is so annoying that my Address Book lacks many important records for lack of the energy to do this all the time.

2) Names in mail from users not in my address book appear in mail as "First Last". So does mail from users in my address book. BUT, when I add the former to my address book, it takes the First name as the Last name, so I have to switch these in Address Book. So Mail seems to reverse the names when getting from Address Book, but doesn't reverse them when sending them to Address Book. Perhaps I have something configured wrong, but this seems to be a bug.

This tip is no longer valid.

I tried this in the current Lion versions of Mail.app and Address Book and it didn't work.
