Find missed callers by telephone number in Address Book
Dec 01, '03 08:55:00AM • Contributed by: michaatje
You see a missed telephone call on your GSM display. You wonder who has tried to call you and if he/she is someone you know. Simply type the displayed telephone number in the search field of Address Book, and if the person is in there, their details will show up immediately.

This was possible in Jaguar also, however I believe it was more flexible in Jaguar. In Jaguar you could search for one part of the phone number (the last four digits for example). I used that feature a lot. Just type in the last four digits of a phone number and 99% of the time it would narrow it down to one address book entry.

in fact, you'll notice that if you type even the few LAST digits IN REVERSE (!) it works ! (well, why, I dunno !)

i too, enjoy tying in only the last 4 digits, and i really miss this, almost enough, to use another address book... maybe there is a applescript out there that does this... or maybe.. i might write one.... |
