Nicholas Riley's ICeCoffEE, designed to let you Command-click URLs in Cocoa apps so they open in the appropriate application, also has a very useful feature: it can add a Serviecs menu to your menu bar.

It looks like this only works, however, in Cocoa applications (which means it doesn't work in the Finder, which is Carbon). But it's still a big help, and makes it one click faster than accessing services from the application menu.

[robg adds: ICeCoffEE can also put the Services menu in your contextual menus, as discussed in a previous hint. It should also be noted that ICeCoffEE works through Unsanity's APE, which some people have reported as causing stability issues. I don't use any APE-required programs, so I can't personally attest to that one way or the other.]
