If you want to delete all tracks in an iTunes playlist, and erase them from your disk completely, you can't just choose the command 'Clear,' as this will only remove the songs from the plyalist, not delete the songs from the library altogether.
The quickest way I found to do both is:
- Select all items in the playlist
- Choose Get info
- Set the genre to 'delete'
- In the Library, find the genre called 'delete'
- Select all items in the genre
- Choose 'Yes' when asked 'Are you sure you want to remove the selected items from the list.'
- Choose Yes when asked "Some of the selected files are located in your iTunes Music Folder. Would you like to move these files to the Trash?'.
That's it; this will remove the files from both the playlist and the Library.
