Be careful when using fink with Panther. The following warning is posted on their website:
Quick Summary: DO NOT USE DSELECT, and if you've used it, check your /sw/etc/apt/sources.list file carefully. When updating an old release (used with Jaguar), follow the instructions on fink's homepage to modify your sources.list file. The 0.6.1 release is especially ported to Panther, but even with a fresh install, dselect does not work. Nevertheless, you can install precompiled fink packages using apt-get:
sudo apt-get install package-nameOf course, you have to replace package-name with the name of the package.
