Maximize battery life on backlit PowerBooks

I just completed a transatlantic flight, where I made the mistake of setting the brightness to one tick and then watching a movie. After the movie (90 minutes long) finished, there were only 26 minutes of battery time left . A little confused, I found that the brightness of the screen had changed to four or five ticks due to the "Automatically adjust brightness as ambient light changes" option in Displays. Thankfully I had an extra battery with me!

So the bottom line is if you're maximizing battery time make sure you turn that option off! This only applies to AlBooks I think, and maybe only those with backlit keyboards?

[robg adds: There's no such option on the 12" AlBook, so I believe it's specific to those with backlighting.]
