I needed to Downgrade a few users from OSX 10.2.6 to 10.1.5 because of issues with Adobe Illustrator and the Spinning Beach Ball -- production was at a crawl. They use Netscape 7.1 mail to access their POP accounts. After I installed 10.1.5 on a separate partition and relaunched with it as the startup disk, Netscape mail wouldn't see the User Profile from the Mozilla prefs in the 10.2.6 side! Nor would it when I moved it to the 10.1.5 side.

After some digging, I found an application called Emailchemy at weirdkid.com. What a powerful and useful tool for converting eMail from Netscape to Eudora or Apple Mail or Entourage formats! Thanks WeirdKid!

[robg adds: I haven't used Netscape mail, but I would think it would've been possible to move just the Mail portion of the Netscape profile into the "new" setup and have it work ... nonetheless, Emailchemy seems to offer the ability to read some very old, very obscure mail formats (PowerTalk!), so it might be useful for some people. I have not tested it, so I don't know what the trial version offers prior to purchase.]
