I have noticed that sometimes after doing clean installs of Jaugar and Panther that Stuffit Expander and or Stuffit Deluxe, with versions varying from 7.0.3, 8, and 8.0.1, would stop working and when double clicking on an archived file or attempting to launch Stuffit, and would just hang and eventually crash.
I recently discovered Stuffit was attempting to connect to the Internet and do a version check. Since I still have dial-up, Stuffit just sat there when it failed to connect to Aladin's website. To fix this issue, open Stuffit while connected to the internet and go into Preferences and simply uncheck version auto version checking.
