10.3: Use a scroll wheel mouse in xterm's vim in X11 UNIX
I Just noticed that when I run vim in an X11.app xterm window, the scroll wheel works as you might expect, scrolling through the file. My .vimrc has:
set nocompatible
set mouse=a
Actually it has a lot more than that, but those are the relevant lines. I have used fink's vim for a long time, but Panther has vim and this works with the Panther version, too. Maybe this has worked before but I haven't noticed it. Because of other issues, I have not used Apple's X11 before.

Any reason to aptget vim in Panther? I see that the included version (6.2) does not have the GUI enabled. I can do without that.

Is it possible to make it work using the Terminal app? I greatly it to xterm, but have had no luck in getting page up, page down, and the mouse wheel to work the way you would expect it to.
