10.3: A fix for sending mail via an SSH tunnel in Mail

10.3 seems to be unable to send mail when the SMTP server is set to localhost, as it would be when sending mail using a SSH tunnel. This hint explains how to work around this, if you had it working previously and the Panther upgrade broke it.

Open NetInfo Manager, and authenticate yourself. Then in /machines/, make a duplicate of localhost. Name this "tunnel" and delete the "serves" property. Save changes.

In the Mail preferences for the mail account which uses SSH, open the Server Settings panel. Change the server name to "tunnel" and leave everything else the same.
