Three years old, that is. Yes, that's right. As of 8:26pm today, macosxhints.com turned three years old. Never did I envision when I published that first entry that we'd still be here going strong three years later. So thanks to all of you for helping make macosxhints.com an informative, useful, and fun place to visit -- I still learn stuff every day I come here, and I'm still having a blast working on the site, even after the daily 4:30am starts! I still can't really believe it's been that long since we launched; it seems just yesterday I was diving into that great unknown called the "10.0 Public Beta" for the first time, trying to figure out just what to do with this "command line" thing.

We may not be the biggest Mac site (but that was never my goal!), but I certainly feel that all of you in the community have helped make it one of the best Mac sites on the net.

If you're into statistics, here are a few that amaze me ... we continue to get about 1,000 new "freebie" accounts per month (account holders can change the comment viewing order and style, pick another theme, and pick topics that they don't wish to read), we're moving about 250gb of data per month, we finished October with 1,190,947 page views, and the Geeklog engine has handled roughly 34,000,000 database queries in our first three years! And we've done all of that without any advertising or subscription-only areas of the site, thanks to those of you who have sent in the voluntary $10 per year subscription fee ... so a heart-felt "Thank You" to all of those who have helped keep us "on the air" these first three years! I greatly appreciate the support.

And now, it's time to go spend a bit of time with my wife (and daughter!), who has given me the support necessary to keep a "hobby" like this going, even when it intrudes on our family time -- thank you, Marian! Have a great evening everyone, and the normal routine will resume tomorrow morning...
