Drag Photoshop Layers into Finder windows

I just discovered this one accidentally, in OSX 10.2.8: if you drag a layer from a Photoshop 7.0 image into a Finder window, you get a "Picture clipping.pictClipping" file that contains the image in that layer. You can drag a layer from the Layers palette or, if you have the Move [v] tool enabled, you can drag the layer right out of the image into a Finder window.

BTW, I tried dragging layers onto the Preview app in the Dock, or onto my icon in iChat -- no go. But I bet there are other places on our Macs that we could drag a Photoshop layer into.

[robg adds: This works in Panther and Photoshop Elements, too, though I had to drag it from the image itself, not the layers palette.]
