After upgrading to Panther, I was surprised to notice that my Utilities folder displayed a non-standard icon. Upon closer inspection, I realized that it was an icon I had tried in vain to apply to the folder in the Puma days. Finally, the ability to give a custom icon to the Utilities folder is here!

wow, you can also paste custom icons onto your default home-folder folders, like Documents and Library, just like you could before 10.2 (i think), that is, without hacking the system icons.

Does anyone else have the problem where the Applications icon in the sidebar is different from its folder icon, and refuses to change?
10.3: Utilities folder now accepts custom icons
Yes. But I have no idea how to solve it (for certain). One method by which I have had soem luck is to rename the initial folder, cerate a new folder, paste the proper icon, add it to the sidebar, and rename the folder, trashign the original folder. This worked for some.
Dumb question.
Which utilities folder? /Applications/Utilities? Is there another one?

This new feature doesn't works on my panther 10.3 os. I have purchased the software at Apple Store Educational. It is the same Os that is sold in non-educational. |
