This hint applies to those who have chosen to have a "blank" Administrator password to make it easier to use the 10.3 Fast User Switching feature. When entering a blank password in an authorization pop-up window, most of the time the cursor is in the Password field. In these cases, it works to just click "OK".
But I have run into a few cases (possibly only with third party applications) where the cursor was still on the User Name field. In these cases, clicking on OK does not work. The simple work-around is to first move into the Password field (tabbing in or clicking on the field) before clicking on OK.
[robg adds: Using a blank admin password is, of course, not recommended! I'd like to see Apple add a feature where, once you've authenticated another user during a session (ie you haven't logged out of your primary account), then you can fast user switch without re-entering the password.]
