10.3: Change the color of Exposé windows with APE Manager Desktop
I just found out that you can change the color of the mini-windows when Exposé is activated by using APE Manager from Unsanity. Specifically, the color of the mini-windows when you roll over them is the same color as the Background Fill Color choice in the ClearDock APE. It even uses the opacity setting. Nice!

You don't need APE to change the color. Exposé will use the highlight-color you chose in the Appearance Sys.pref.

No, I have my dock transparent - it's about the first thing I do on new installs. But I still have the windows colored when using exposé. I'd think it uses the text-highlight-colour, as user katze007 has written.

So if you make your dock clear, you won't get any roll-over effect in Expose?

I'm pretty sure that ClearDock has no effect on Exposé. It seems rather to be what the other comments say and entirely dependent on the highlight color.

I just installed ClearDock then, and it definitely has an effect. I left the settings as default (no Dock background), and there was no rollover effect in Exposé (except for the window name appearing). Changing the text highlight color did not affect this.

Hold on, I just changed the settings for ClearDock then, adding a background. Now the Exposé highlight is back to what it was, and is changed by the text highlight color. I think I've got it: Unchecking the "Colorize the Dock Background" checkbox will make the Exposé highlight disappear. Checking this will make the highlight dependent on the text highlight color. I'm not 100% sure about this, though. ClearDock definitely has some effect, in any case.

Exposé indeed uses the text highlight color set in the preferences; however, when ClearDock's Colorize Dock Background option is disabled, Exposé windows will not be highlighted. We are currently investigating how this can be fixed. Thanks!
