10.3: Efficiently use Mail.app's Move To contextual menu Apps
Found this interesting feature of the new Mail.app. Not sure it may have already been in Mail, and I just missed it.

I have many mailboxes for organizing my mail, and I am often shuffling mail around between boxes, a rather sluggish process in the previous Mail.app. In Panther Mail.app, I am using the contextual menu item "Move To" (Control-click on any message). Quite speedy.

The thing I discovered, though, was that the contents of the contextual menu are dependent on the current viewing prefs in the mailbox pane. Whatever is expanded (e.g. you see the contents of a mail folder in the mailbox pane) is reflected in the contextual menu. For quickest display of the contextual menu, make sure all mailbox folders are unexpanded, and also close the mailbox pane (Command-Shift-M). This way, when you access the contextuak menu, you only get the top level list of folders, which displays quite quickly. You still have complete navigation anywhere you need to go though, due to the sub-menus that open for each mailbox drawer.
