This might be obvious to many, but it wasn't to me. I wasn't able to get Flash movies from certain sites to work in Safari until I unchecked the Flash box in the QuickTime System Preferences panel -- click on the MIME Settings button, then look in the Miscellaneous section and uncheck Flash.

A fix to enable playing Flash movies in Safari
On my Quicktime prefs the MIME settings panel is blank! Aren't there supposed to be at least some default ones there?
partial solution, but
Most flash sites work for me, but every once in a while i still get a nonworking site.
one example of this is sisley i tried in both camino and safari, but no luck (the site does function fine on the pc at work with ie - ewww)... perhaps this is not a flash problem? not sure. anybody else having this problem? or is it just a poorly coded site? p.s. i do have the latest flash + shockwave plugin installed.
partial solution, but
this site is another nonfunctioning example:
suba
i would be greatful if somebody could try it out so i can know if other people have the same problem or is it just me. thank you
They work for me;
Both of those sites work for me and I haven't touched my QuickTime MIME type settings.
They work for me;
hmm, thank you.
partial solution, but
I am having the same problem. Somebody please help!!!
Don't forget Flash web settings
When you come to a web page w/ an embedded Flash movie, to help the playback of this movie and others found throughout the current site, you can increase the cache as well as other settings. Just place your pointer above a Flash movie and Control + click (right + click) to access the custom Flash settings (along w/ zooming, play controls, print, animation quality).
Settings include cache, volume, DV camera access.
works for me too
both sisley and suba work for me
A fix to enable playing Flash movies in Safari
Few people seem to notice all the juicy privacy settings available - and on the Macromedia site, no less - when you right-click on any Flash movie. Your Flash player can be set to never allow a single file to use your browser cache - or camera, or microphone, should you be so foolish.
A fix to enable playing Flash movies in Safari
Anyone else have problems in Safari with ifilm.com? It works fine for me using Camino, but in Safari it says I don't have Flash... (i have the latest Flash version, 7.0.something as of yesterday).
