Easily merge mulitple iTunes playlists Apps
I'm not quite sure where this hint would be useful, but in iTunes, if you drag one playlist onto another playlist, all the songs in the dragged playlist are added to the other one. It doesn't work with smart playlists, however.

[robg adds: Some of you may scream "Obvious!," since the cursor changes into a plus sign when you drag one list over another. However, I had never thought to try dragging a playlist around, so I'd never seen that ... so if I missed it, perhaps others have as well.]

Besides dragging playlists, you can of course also drag artist or album names from the top panes of the library window onto any playlist in the Source window...

all fine and good.. but how do you say, take one playlist and compare it to another.. to get a list of songs that are NOT available in the other list.. ?

You should be able to create a smart list that does "song is in this list" but "not in this list". Not near a mac at the moment, but i'll try it out when I get home.

Nope. There's no comparison available for 'in playlist x'. Now, you can get this sort of info via applescript, so there might be a route there.

I use this to save a randomly generated smart list. For example, I have a smart list that picks 72 minutes of music. I then select the songs and drag into a new list so I can generate another list of 72 minutes of music.

well if you click on the sorter to the left of song name, it should list the playlist in the order that it was added. you should be able to scroll to the bottom of where you want your playlist to end, and then remove your library.
