Import messages into Mail.app from Turnpike (PC) Apps
I was helping my brother move from an old PC to his new PowerBook. He had been using Turnpike on his PC (TurnPike is email, etc. software, developed by the UK ISP, Demon). Turnpike was holding around 3,000 emails. The export file (149 meg) looked like an mBox file, so I used that import setting in Mail.app.

On the first attempt, Mail.app only found one message! I opened the file in BBedit, and changed the lineendings from DOS to UNIX. On the next attempt to import, Mail.app found about 1,400 messages, and we soon found that some of the mail messages were still "joined together."

I noticed that the messages Mail.app had failed to seperate out began with:
From <> date
ie. the From: header was broken. Using BBEdit again, I replaced all of these with a valid email address. The next import attempt found and separated all of the messages.
