10.3: Open URLs via drag and drop to Safari's tab bar Web Browsers
The Safari tab bar now behaves the way the tab bar in Camino does. You can open a URL by drag-and-dropping it onto a tab (whether the tab is in the foreground or in the background). If you drag and drop a URL somewhere on the unused area of the tab bar, Safari will create a new tab for that url.

[robg adds: This is a long-awaited improvement; my old habits from other browsers were not going away, and I was always surprised when Safari didn't behave as expected when I dropped a URL on the tab bar.]

Great! Now all I need is that other sorely missing function: Bookmark all tabs!

Yes - bookmark all tabs. IMO you should also be able to drag a tab to the desktop for example and have it create a bookmark as if you had dragged it from the title bar.

This would be useful and even more "as you expected but didn't think anyone would actually do it" <- the stuff Apple has been doing as long as i can remember, another example

making money in a bad economy: "as you expected but didn't think anyone would actually do it"

FYI, if you drag the linki to the left of the first tab, then the new tab will open in the front of the list. Drag it on the chevron to the right and the tab is added to end of the list.

Good. Now I want to be able to rearrange the tabs by drag-and-drop like you could in Netscape7 on Win32. I think that was the one that did that.

You can also grab a link on a page, hit Exposť app, and drag the link onto another window, opening either in the current tab or into a new tab if you drag it to the chevron.

are tabs scriptable???

Does the Safari AppleScript dictionary allow you to reference individual tabs in Panther? I've had to skip using tabs, since there is no way to reference them from AppleScript in Jaguar.

I really wish Apple had not added tabs without having them scriptable. I've got a script that saves the URLs of all open windows, and I'd love to be able to do that with tabs.

Not yet, unfortunately. It doesn't allow you to save multiple tabs either. :/
