Choose Safari as web browser when using Mozilla Mail Apps
I wondered wether you can change the default webbrowser in Mozilla mail in order to use the fast and gorgeous Safari. I searched but I only found a hint to change the mail handler when using Mozilla as a browser. After a bit of experimenting, this is how to do it ... it's about the same as the other hint, you have only to exchange mailto with http:
user_pref("network.protocol-handler.external.http", true);
You have to add this to your pref.js file in ~/Library -> Mozilla -> Profiles -> etc., as explained in the original hint.

Or, if you want to use Mozilla just for email, you could try Thunderbird (just the email/newsgroup component without the additional crap), since the Mozilla suite is on the way out anyway.

user.js is the only file you should modify, not prefs.js

If you receive any HTML-based e-mail, be aware that setting this preference will mean Mozilla will pass each image it sees in an e-mail to Safari, which will open a new browser window for every image passed to it. This is A Bad Thing, especially when you encounter e-mails with more than a dozen images inside.
