Use a .Mac slideshow as a desktop background Desktop
This is really simple, but it took me a while to find the folder. I wanted to use a .Mac slideshow for my background pictures. I knew that the slidewshow probably downloaded the images somewhere, and after some searching I found it. Choose ~/Library/Caches/slideshowuser in the Desktop system preferences panel as the image location (where slideshowuser is the .mac username of the person whose slideshow you'd like to use).

[robg adds: While testing this hint, I found the cached image files within the following structure in the ~/Library/Caches directory:
com.apple.iToolsSlideSubscriptions/slideshowuser/Public Slide Show
I think this is probably the correct path to be navigating to in the Desktop prefs panel.]

A simpler method is to just download Backlight and use the ".mac" screen saver that comes with OS X. If you haven't already tried Backlight, it is a very cool utility that lets you set screen savers as your desktop background... It's particularly fun to set Marine Aquarium as your background and show it off to your Windows acquaintences. :)

Are there any good .Mac slideshows out there? Has someone built a webpage where people could post theirs?

Does anyone know if there's a way to play an individual iphoto album as a desktop slideshow? That is, any way other than making your own slideshow and posting it on your idisk?

I would like to be able to pick a particular album from iphoto and play it on my desktop.
