Here's how to add Big5-HKSCS support to Camino:

  1. Go to Camino -> Contents -> MacOS -> res (by control-clicking on Camino and choosing "Show package contents")
  2. Duplicate charsetalias.properties for backup
  3. Open charsetalias.properties with TextEdit
  4. Search for big5=Big5 and replace with big5=Big5-HKSCS
  5. Save and exit.
Download Chinese fonts for better encoding. Suggestions for the User.js file:
user_pref("font.name.cursive.zh-TW", "AR PL Mingti2L Big5");
user_pref("font.name.fantasy.zh-TW", "AR PL Mingti2L Big5");
user_pref("font.name.monospace.zh-TW", "AR PL Mingti2L Big5");
user_pref("font.name.serif.zh-TW", "AR PL Mingti2L Big5");
user_pref("font.name.sans-serif.zh-TW", "AR PL Mingti2L Big5");
user_pref("font.size.fixed.zh-TW", 14);
user_pref("font.size.variable.zh-TW", 14);
user_pref("font.minimum-size.zh-TW", 12);
Tested on Camino 0.7 Build ID: 2003060604

[robg adds: Big5-HKSCS is a special supplement to the standard Big-5 character set for use in Hong Kong. Taken from the application to IANA for the extension, the official description is: "To facilitate electronic communication in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR), the Hong Kong Supplementary Character Set (HKSCS), a supplement to the standard character set of Big-5, was developed in 1999.  This supplementary character set includes characters collected from various sectors in Hong Kong and represents a common set for the community.  It has been widely used in Hong Kong."]
