As you (may) know, Image Capture is a great iApp. At least I consider it one. One of its quick and great features is its "no frills" quick and easy webpage generation output option. However, Image Capture does not allow you to take sources other then capture devices and generate galleries with them. This has always been something that I'd like to have easy access to, in order to use the web page output option with my existing photos.
I recently noticed that Image Capture runs an AppleScript to generate the web page. The script (called "Build Web Page") is located in /Library -> Image Capture -> Scripts. Just double click the script, and it will ask for files or folder to process. Voila! For bonus points, put it into your AppleScripts directory (~/Library -> Scripts) and enable the AppleScript menu from the menu bar for quick and easy access!
You will also notice the other output options made available to Image Capture are in Image Capture's Scripts folder. I'd bet it uses any scripts placed in this directory for output options, so you could likely modify or make your own output options for image capture. Brillant!
Panther update: In 10.3, this script is located here: /System -> Library -> Image Capture -> Automatic Tasks -> Build Web Page.app
