For those of you running Geeklog sites, you should check out the Featured Article on geeklog.net. There's a fairly serious security hole in Geeklog 1.3.7 (and older versions). A patch has been released, and I installed it on macosxhints.com this morning -- hopefully there are no ill effects, but if you notice something that's not behaving as expected, please let me know. Thanks to the Geeklog team for jumping on this one quickly, and to Dirk in particular for bringing this to my attention and helping with the patches to my customized code!

Minor site update this morning...
Don't know if this is related to your update, but at least one of the articles is not displaying properly in Safari or Camino (possibly other browsers). The article is "too wide" causing the horizontal scroll bar to appear. I checked a few other hints articles and this was the only one that had the problem.
Not related...
That's what happens when someone uses the <pre> tag and doesn't insert any line breaks -- HTML won't break a <pre> string unless you do so manually.
Minor site update this morning...
I just got done with updating my Geeklog based site to SR2 (lancairpilots.org). Thanks for spreading the word!
bug?
index page still shows login boxes even though i'm already logged in. If i go to any other page in the site, I can see the User Control Panel block and my username is already printed on the page. I need to check if my GL sites are doing this too.
re: bug?
bah! never mind. I just did a shift-reload on the index page and all is well. stupid Safari cache! |
