Resize window drawers from either side System
Completely by accident, I've discovered that you can resize drawers (like Mail.app's or Omniweb's) from more locations than just their far edges.

For example: In Mail.app (assuming your drawer is on the right), you can resize the Mailboxes drawer by clicking just to the right of the scrollbar and dragging in either direction.

[robg adds: This seems to work just as well when the drawer is on the left; you just need to click and drag very close to the window edge.]

I found that out a few weeks ago. I think it's a 1-pixel target width. But I never thought about posting it here :D

Anywhere on the border, on all three sides of the drawer.

Would someone please tell me how to move the drawer from the right side to the left side or vice versa? Once, Acquisition somehow switched its drawer on its own (bug?) and I have no clue how to switch it back. Nor do I know how to switch the drawer in Mail.app. Anyone tell me a universal way to switch Cocoa drawers? And, no, I don't need any instructions on changing my dirty underwear. ;)

Move Mail.app to the farthest left-hand side of your screen (so that the drawer won't show completely), then hide/show your drawer ... the drawer will pop up on the right-hand side of the app. Also works vice versa ...

The solution is TOO simple! Just drag an email off in the oppsoite direction and the drawer will pop out and remain on the side you chose. Easy. :o)

Resize window drawers taller???
Authored by: starwxrwx on Mar 12, '04 04:25:09AM

besides changing the whole mail program window size, can u make the mailboxes drawer *taller*?? i swear i used to be able to in 10.2.x, but now it just sits at slightly smaller than the other window which is *so* annoying as i have to make the other window bigger to fit in all my mailboxes without the scrollbar

it just seemed to stop working one day :/

So when you re-size mail.app's drawer, does it stay re-sized? Mine immediately springs back to its orginal size and it's really bugging me. I can grab the drawer by any of the positions mentioned in this thread and pull it in towards the window but when it gets half way it dissappears and I have to open it again. And when I do, it's the original size. I want it smaller but can't figure it out. I've tried viewing icons as small icons but that doesn't work (just makes it more irritating as it highlights the amount of space lost to that wretched drawer).

But it sounds like some people have got drawers that stay where you put them. How do you get it to do that?
