MPEGinsu is a free AppleScript front-end for mpgtx, which is a command-line tool for cutting and splicing MPEG files. Using MPEGinsu is a snap. You load your movie in QuickTime Player and cue up cut points. At each cut point, click a button in MPEGinsu to add it to the cut list. Finally, click "Cut!" and MPEGinsu will chop the file into seperate MPEG files. I use this frequently to edit MPEGs I capture with EyeTV, and edit out the commercials for burning to VCD.
[robg adds: I haven't used this program, as I do very little with video beyond the stuff I record on the digicam, but some of you may find it useful.]
