Transferring a buddy list to a new screen name in iChat

Okay, here we go. I decided a few days ago to get a new AIM screen name, only to realize that the new screen name wouldn't have my old screen name's buddy list. My Mac-centric mind is thinking "there must be a way to do this without using AIM." And sure enough, there is.

When you add a buddy to iChat, that buddy gets created as an address card in Address Book. If you log in with your new screen name in iChat, all you need to do to retreive your buddy list is to select all the cards in Address Book and drag-and-drop them to the iChat Buddy List window. You'll see how many buddies you're adding, and when you let go of the mouse button, your iChat window will be miraculously populated by your buddy list!

I know this may seem like a basic hint, but it may not occur to some people. I continually tell people that it's all about intuitivity. If it feels like you can drag and drop it, then try it! It may very well work! Have fun, everyone.
