The latest release of Watson (v1.7) now supports using older Sherlock v.1 and v.2 and MyCroft plugins. It is not exactly mentioned in the README file, or any of the online docs either. There are some docs specific to Sherlock plugins located within the package, though. After playing with this a bit today I went in search of all those old Sherlock 2 plugins I used to use in OS 9 days. Most of the sites have dried up, though, so it's a bit hard to find the plugins. Here's a quick list of sources for Sherlock Plugins I culled from a few mins of searching this afternoon:
- Open Watson 1.7, select "Site Search" tool.
- Select Tool Menu -> Settings to access the "Site Search" tool settings. Check the box to "Use Sherlock 2 Plugins."
- Quit Watson.
- Install your Sherlock 1 & 2 plugins in ~/Library/Internet Search Sites.
- Restart Watson, go to "Site Search" tool and you should see your Sherlock plugins in the drop down menu.

- Sherlock Plugins For Power Searchers
- Glooton Sherlock Plugins List
- MyCroft Plugins - Scroll to the bottom of the page and grab the "all plugins for download" as a tar.gz then pick and choose which ones you want.
- Moriarty Pro plug-in [link will download plug-in] - A "whois" search tool.
- Google Groups [link will download plug-in] - With no specific arguments, it will search all newsgroups which is pretty useless, so you can qualify it with specific arguments, as in the following example: group:comp.protocols.dicom insubject:tag author:clunie
