Those of you who've had to send your Mac in to the Apple Repair Depot know that the wait for your machine can be a harrowing experience. You obsessively and compulsively check and re-check the Repair Status page and do an adorable (but rhythm-less) boogie when you see the words "Unit Shipped." But often, the status page doesn't list the tracking number for your package, and even the folks answering the phone at AppleCare can't fill you in. However, there is another way to get that tracking information:
Go to Airborne Express' Track By Reference Number page. In the "Shipper's Reference #" field, enter the Dispatch ID or Repair Number for your Mac. Enter your zip in the Destination Zip field, and Voila! There appears your package's tracking info.
This is especially useful for those of us who live in well-secured communities (sometimes we have to jump through all manner of hoops to get a package); this will let you know when to start jumping.
[robg adds: While not technically an OS X hint, I could've used this a while back when we sent an iBook in for work, so I figure it might help someone else!]
