Resolve a Tekxon digital camera issue System
The Tekxon digital cameras are compatible with OS 9 and above. Really it's working fine under OS 9, but under OS X, the system stops responding -- no dock, no force quit, only the power button works. I want to use the camera under the 10.2.4, and I eventually found the source of (and solution to) the problems.

The camera formats its memory card in MS-DOS FAT12 format. It's not a usable format under Jaguar (10.2), so just reformat it with Jaguar's Disk Utility to MS-DOS format. After this procedure, don't use the camera's format option, only the "delete all pictures" feature.

[robg adds: I've never heard of Tekxon digital cameras, and it appears from a web search that they may be a non-US brand, so hopefully this helps someone out there...]

Beware of large MS-DOS format ! ! !

Compact Flash IBM 1 gig MicroDrive

Guess what? MS-DOS format must NOT support a 1 gig partition. You HAVE to write a 990 mb and a 10 mb for it to be recognized. Found this out the hard way after IBM, Toshiba, Minolta, etc. said "Sorry, must not work on a mac."
Any comments?
