Run Apple's Combined Updater to solve upgrade issues System
A couple of users have complained of the following problem. After they upgrade their system to 10.2.4, certain apps stop working. In one case, the OpenGL library was deleted, in another, a library necessary for running Carbon apps like IE vanished. In each case, the solution was to download the standalone updater for OS X (10.2.4 combo update) from Apple Featured Updates and install it.

[robg adds: Based on user comments on sites such as MacFixIt and Macintouch, the Combined Updater does seem to help those who experience problems after using the usual Software Update updater. I have no idea why this might be, but it seems like more than an urban legend...]

Simply amazing! Cuts my start up time down to about a quarter or less of what it took after the latest security update!

After several tries, I managed to get the full combined update file over my bad dial -up connection...
Now my question is:

Can you run this update on your already updated 10.2.4? Or do you have to start over fron the Jaguar install CD?

Dave

Just run the combo installer. No need to re-install Jaguar

Don't do it!

I ran the installer and it killed my finder and quicktime. They both simply wouldn't open anymore. I'm using a powerbook that already had 10.2.4 running on it. So just be cautious and if you know what happened to my system please tell me. I got the finder back, by copying it off my friends system. I haven't got quicktime working again, yet.
