Safari key combinations work in the Google search bar Web Browsers
I like the Google search bar in Safari, but I when I think of a Google search, I want it to actually open a new window. I have been using Command-shift click to open links behind my window for later viewing, so I tried holding these keys down and hitting return from the Google search bar. Sure enough, it opened the Google search in a window behind my current one.

[robg adds: We've run a hint on the Safari keyboard shortcuts before, but nowhere do they mention that the shortcuts work from the Google search entry area!]

I like this hint as that is I usually like to view Google results in another window. However, the fact the results are not brought to the foreground was annoying.

If you just press Command and return, the results will display in a new window in the foreground.

This also works in the latest Safari beta with tabs (it's unofficial - but has escaped into the wilds of the Internetl) ...Cmd-enter from the Google search bar sends the search to a new tab and switches window focus to the new tab; Cmd-shift-enter does the same but loads the tab in the background. Checkout slashdot.org for details on the new tabbed browser...very sweet...also does form completion as well..

Nice hint, that had been bugging me too.
A quick test reveals that this also works on the 'Google search' contextual menu, hold down the Apple key, or Shift + Apple while selecting the cm option. Excellent.
