Remove extra iMovie3 help files to save drive space Apps
After installing iMove 3.0.1, I noticed this folder on my hard drive:

/Library/Documentation/iMovie/

It contains tutorials on how to use iMovie3. However, these tutorials are offered in 14 different languages, totalling 112 distinct PDF files and using 60.4MB of space. They're only accessed when you open iMovie Help. When you click a tutorial topic, it opens the corresponding PDF in Acrobat Reader.

So, to free up 60 MB of space, you can delete the PDFs in the languages you don't need. Or delete them all.

[Editor's note: These files are not removed if you use the Get Info method of disabling languages in the application itself -- you'll have to remove them yourself.]

How about all those printers!?
Authored by: jriskin on Feb 13, '03 12:22:03AM

I have no idea whether or not its safe (nor whether how I would recover them later) but the /Library/Printers folder contains a whopping 485MB of printers. Now somehow I doubt in the course of using OS X on a single machine you're going to need all of them.

Anyone know if its ok to remove them? I don't have any printers currently and i'm curious of if I did remove them what would happen if I bought a printer? Wouldn't it just come with drivers anyway?

Jacob
