Restoring unusable VirtualPC containers Apps
When I reinstalled OS X (as I had to do last night), my VirtualPC hard disk "containers" became unselectable in the VPC Settings for those PC's. You can imagine that the prospect of losing the work I had done with those drives was not high in my wishlist.

Searching through the Connectix Care VPC Mac user forum yielded a posting by "leapoffaith" who recommended a "Show Contents" (via a control-click) on the packages and simply dragging the hard drive containers out of the packages. Toss the package files and VPC becomes happy with the files you dragged out.

Why this happened is beyond me but the important thing is that a user provided a solution. I hoist a brew in your honor "leapoffaith!"

VPC image issues
Authored by: Jay on Feb 03, '03 04:24:12PM

When I upgraded to VPC 6, I couldn't start up amny of my disks from the app. I discovered that they'd start up fine, if I double clicked the images in the finder and let vpc open them that way.
