Copy and paste text in Toast windows Apps
I use Roxio Toast Platinum 5.2 to make audio and backup CDs and recently found that the text of the Toast window (eg. track number, track name, duration) is available for editing and printing in TextEdit, Word, etc. Just select the file names in the Toast window, click Edit -> Copy and then paste into your text editor. The tabs need a little fixing up, but the information is there and ready to use.

If you try this with Toast's Data CD selection, the pasted text includes nicely tabbed subfolder and bundle contents that you can edit and print. This is saving me from having to record CD contents manually.

This also works in the iTunes browser window. Use the view prefs to determine which tags you want to capture, and then drag the columns into the order you'd like. This is a nifty way -- using CDDB -- to quickly build a database of your CD collection. The practical limit here is the accuracy of the original submitter!

It's also worth noting that you can copy and paste from any Finder window...
